She has her own business representing and training social landlord and tenants organisations. She has clients in Dorset, Somerset and the South West and East. Emily is active in the local community in Shaftesbury where she is a school governor. She attends St James' church Shaftesbury which is a stone's throw away from her house. She is active in the church as a bellringer, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Parochial Church Council. Emily is married to Lib Dem MP Edward Davey who represents Kingston and Surbiton. Emily's parents live on a smallholding in Shillingstone, between Blandford and Sturminister Newton. On representing the Lib Dems in North Dorset Emily said: " I am committed to fight for the best for North Dorset. I have seen successive Tory MPs fail to represent North Dorset's interests. It's time we had a Lib Dem MP for North Dorset." Emily's other interests include swimming, gardening, painting and pottery. Emily commented: "I enjoy gardening; I think it runs in the blood. As a child I spent days working on my parent's allotment in Stourpaine so vegetable are no problem. It's flowers that are my challenge!"
